Winning the Vendee Globe Race is no mean feat, but the decisive manner in which Charlie Dalin sailed to victory was truly impressive , with most of the fleet sailing in his wake from the Southern Ocean onwards. Dalin also kept his nerve in a tense battle with Yoann Richomme, which endured through the Southern Ocean and up the Atlantic. Richomme was vanquished and Dalin smashed the record with a time of 63 days and 19 hours.
